WRITING

The awkward part is not the work. It is asking to be paid

Quotes that turn into invoices, a link your client opens in a browser with no app and no account, and reminders that come to you instead of to them.

Every freelancer has had this week. The work shipped, the client said something warm about it, and then nothing. Two weeks later you are drafting a message in your head that you rewrite four times, trying to find a way to ask for your own money that does not sound like an accusation.

The uncomfortable truth is that most late payments are not refusals. They are friction. Somebody has to find the wallet address, check it against a message from three weeks ago, work out whether they already paid, and ask a colleague to approve it. Each of those is a place the payment stops moving, and none of them is about whether they value your work.

Start before the work, not after it

The single cheapest change most freelancers can make is to send a quote before starting rather than an invoice after finishing. A quote is not a formality. It is the moment the scope and the number exist in writing, agreed, before anybody has spent a week on anything.

In FendoMoney a quote is the same document as the invoice, one step earlier. Your client accepts it, and it becomes the invoice with one tap. Nothing is retyped, the reference does not change, and there is no second document that says something slightly different from the first.

What your client actually receives

A link. They open it in whatever browser is already on their phone or laptop, and they see what they owe, what it is for, when it is due, the address to pay, and whether it has been paid already. No app to install. No account to create. No password for a service they will use once.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Asking a client to sign up for something in order to pay you adds a step that a busy person will postpone, and postponing is how an invoice becomes a month old.

THE ADDRESS ONLY APPEARS WHILE IT IS WANTED

The wallet address is shown while the sale is still waiting for payment, and not once it has arrived or the sale has failed. Somebody reopening an old link cannot pay twice into something that is already settled, which is a mistake that is unpleasant for both of you to unwind.

We never talk to your clients

This is deliberate and it is worth saying plainly. Nothing is ever sent to a client on your behalf. We do not email them, we do not chase them, and we do not put our name in the middle of your relationship with them. You share the link yourself, in whatever you already use to talk to them, whether that is WhatsApp, email or a Slack channel.

Reminders about an overdue invoice come to YOU. The app tells you which ones have gone past their date so you can decide what to do about it, because whether to nudge a particular client, and how, is a judgement about a relationship that no software should be making for you.

And then it is just money

When the stablecoin lands, you sell it and the naira goes to your bank account, usually within minutes. The rate that sale executed at is kept with it, the invoice is marked paid, and the whole thing turns into a line on the income record you will need at the end of the year.

Which is the actual point. Chasing an invoice is miserable. Chasing it and then, nine months later, trying to reconstruct what you were paid and when, is worse. Doing it this way means the asking and the record are the same act.
